Richard A. Dabrowski: A Life of
Art Works Sunday, June 10, 2 pm
Born in New York City in 1912,
Dick Dabrowski started modeling plaques and portrait busts in plastiline
at a very young age. He studied sculpture at the National Academy of Design.
While he was there, a patron in search of a sculptor hired him to create
his first commercial project-the head of a woman to be a display stand for
ladies' hats. In 1984, he moved to Kennebunkport where his graphic work
was accepted and printed as a biweekly feature in the local newspaper. Now
at 95, Dabrowski is still creating art. He will be here at Graves to review
and show his ongoing variety of talents. From sculpture to ceramics, photography
to puzzles, reliefs to paintings - this lecture is not to be missed.
